Meeting location and time: Detroit Police Department Central District Headquarters (7310 Woodward) at 6:30 p.m.
President Rita Smith stated that she had about $400.00 in expenses that need to be reimbursed. She will complete the necessary form and submit it to the Treasurer.
* Council Election
Kelvin Heath, Chair of the Nominating Committee, was not present but he had reported to the President that he had not received any other nominations. Mr. Heath stated at the April meeting that if there were no other nominations, the slate presented in April would be elected in May.

Join us, and Southwest Solutions (SWSOL), on June 6th for their 3rd Annual Southwest Detroit Neighborhood Beautification Day from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

Join us, and Southwest Solutions (SWSOL), on June 6th for their 3rd Annual Southwest Detroit Neighborhood Beautification Day from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

This is one of the largest events SWSOL will have this year, with 10 different locations and tasks that will be completed that day, including park beautification; Southwest Housing Solutions’ apartment buildings landscaping; senior citizen house painting; and Go Getters Homeless Drop-in Center improvements.

Corktown residents meet June 2 at PJ's Lager House

The Lager House is Located at 1254 Michigan Avenue, three blocks East of old Tiger Stadium and two blocks West of MGM Grand.
Topic one is election

1. WHO MAY VOTE: Residents of Corktown - only those individuals
currently residing in Corktown. (Corktown general boundaries: Porter
on south, Lodge on east, 24th Street on west and MLK on north).

Elections for the Corktown Residents Council -- Corktown Governance Committee

Corktown Governance Committee (Jeff DeBryun, Bill Bryan and Atiba Seitu)

Ultimately it was decided on a working committee-based structure with a President as the executive.

The President and the Committee chairpersons are to be elected by individuals who reside in Greater Corktown.

The president's purpose is to be a spokesperson for the residents, to lead the meetings, to raise funds and generally work to stabilize and promote Corktown.

Some Central District Police Community items

The Detroit Parks and Rec department will have a presentation at the May 19 Meeting of Centrel District Police Community Relations Council. The CDPCRC meetings start at 6:30 and are held at Central District Police Department.
Meetings are the Third Tuesday of each month (except July and August)
