House passes Tlaib's plan to require community investment process for neighborhoods
— May 26, 2010

LANSING – The Michigan House of Representatives today passed a plan introduced by State Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Detroit) to protect Michigan residents, neighborhoods, small businesses and natural resources from any long-term damage caused during construction of the Detroit River International Crossing (DRIC) project. Passage of Tlaib's plan requires a community investment process and brings Michigan one step closer to building a second bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, which will support trade, improve traffic flow and create tens of thousands of jobs.
