DETROIT WORKS PROJECT TO BE PRESENTED AT COMMUNITY MEETINGS ACROSS THE CITY OF DETROIT

FYI on the Detroit Works mtg schedule & our ability to request a city rep come to our mtg to present. Since City deadline to submit request form is Sept 16, 2011, I ask that you read their statement & let me know by 9/14th if you agree we request. "Mayor Dave Bing’s administration will provide an overview of The Detroit Works Project’s short-term strategy to community members during the upcoming Detroit Police Department Community Relations Meetings in the month of September.

“It’s important for us to meet with residents where they live to share the results of the Neighborhood Analysis and explain how the short-term action strategy of the Detroit Works Project will impact our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Bing. “It will be a great opportunity for citizens to learn about the short-term strategy and get answers to any questions they may have about the project.”

The schedule is as follows:

September 7: Eastern located at 5555 Conner, The Samaritan Center @ 7 p.m.
September 8: 10th Precinct located at 8675 Rosa Parks, DPD Mini Station @ 6:30 p.m.
September 13: Northeastern located at 7737 Kercheval 6:30 p.m.
September 13: Southwestern located at 4700 W. Fort @ 7 p.m.
September 26: 6th & 8th Precinct (West) located at Bushnell Church, 15000 Southfield Road @ 6:30 p.m.

During the Detroit Police Department Community Relations Meetings approximately 30-minutes are being designated for a brief presentation to attendees about the Detroit Works Project short-term strategy. Representatives will also answer questions the attendees have about the project.

Additionally, CB patrols, block clubs, faith-based groups, and so forth can request to have a Detroit Works Project representative attend their meeting to discuss details of the short-term action strategy.

To make a request visit www.DetroitWorksProject.com and go to the “Get Involved” tab. Click on “Upcoming Events” and download the “Meeting Request Form.” Complete the entire form, print it out and submit it using one of the two methods that are identified on the form. Deadline to submit the “Meeting Request Form” is Friday, Sept. 16, 2011." Thanks
