August Corktown Residents' Council (CRC) meeting.

Community Members:
There will not be an August Corktown Residents' Council (CRC) meeting. We will begin having regular monthly meetings again in the fall. The next meeting will be:
Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 pm - location TBD

However, a community newsletter will be distributed electronically as well as via hard copy to each home within the next 7 - 10 days.

Furthermore, read the newsletter and attend September's meeting to hear about significant community developments that have occurred recently and that will certainly impact your quality of life and the future of Corktown. Items to be discussed include:

The recent announcement that Corktown will be among the next Detroit communities to participate in the BetterBuildingsforMichigan program. See betterbuildingsformichigan.org for more details. 10+ community-based organizations spread throughout our community are part of this awesome collaboration that will save our homeowners money and, potentially, provide the foundation for an amazing "energy secure" community
Bikable Corktown: new bike lanes, bike racks and wayfinding signs
The plan for Roosevelt Park
LiveDowntown initiative - new incentives provided for employees of DTE, Strategic Staffing Solutions, Quicken Loans, Compuware, Blue Cross Blue Shield to rent and / or puchase property in Corktown. Which areas are covered? How does this impact / benefit existing renters and / or property owners?
How does Corktown fit into the Detroit Works Project?
What's happening at The Imagination Station? Robocop?
New business association and,
new structure / vision for the Corktown Residents' Council

This email goes out to folks connected to each of these initiatives so hopefully the leaders will reach out and share with the community what is goin on.
